Clothing created for your basic wardrobe with care.

In 2008, Jane and Lars Bredstrup created their first small collection of long-sleeved wool sweaters in pure merino wool under the name Jalfe. The idea was to create a comfortable basic sweater for women in a beautiful selection of colors that can easily be combined with or worn under other clothing.

Since then, we have slowly expanded the range of merino wool clothing and added a collection of organic cotton. However, the long-sleeved Jalfe wool sweater has remained the most popular style throughout the years.

We do not work with seasonal collections. Instead, we prefer a slow flow, where we add a small selection of new styles and new colors in both merino wool and organic cotton about twice a year. At the same time, we let older or less popular styles and colors phase out of the range. We are proud to offer a unique, wide selection of beautiful colors and stripes.

Our wish is that with Jalfe clothing, you can create a sustainable basic wardrobe of high quality that feels fantastic to wear, in colors you love.

Production and Materials

Our work is based on respect for people and the environment, which is reflected in our commitment to ethical and more sustainable production.

All Jalfe clothing is designed and knitted in Denmark, dyed and sewn in Europe.

It is important for us to keep production close. This allows us to ensure high quality and precision in every detail, as well as maintain our high standards and ensure good working conditions.

In our collections, we use pure merino wool, which is mulesing-free, and organic cotton.

This means that our wool comes from sheep that have not been subjected to the painful mulesing procedure, and that our cotton is grown without the use of harmful chemicals and genetic modification.
